Australia demolished the Netherlands in a master class of hockey. The Dutch men got off to a good start and scored the first goal. This only seemed to galvanise the Aussies who chassed back hard and contested every ball. Chris Ciriello bagged a brace, scoring a hat trick from short corners and Jeramy Hayward was awarded young player of the finals. Mark Knowles once again took the best player of the finals award to round off the honours for Australia
