Malaysia v Korea was the last game on the first day. Paul Rivington Malaysian coach faced off against Paul Lissek of Korea. Lissek was formerly with the Malaysian national team and has vast experience with a number of national teams. Rivington was at his first Azlan Shah Cup. The stadium was packed to capacity as the teams battled for supremacy. With several goals in quick succession, it looked for a while like malaysia might have fallen into their old habit of dying off at the end of the game… BUT Chua came through with 2 late goals to secure the game 3-2 over Korea and earn himself the Player of the Match Award
