Game 1: Canada 4 beat China 3
Game 2: Australia 5 beat Korea 1
The first game is a battle of two conflicting styles. The physical Canadians versus the speed and agility of the Chinese. China came into the tournament as the under dogs and have played every game at a frantic pace. They feel they have nothing to lose and have played accordingly. Canada are much higher ranked and so should be the better team… at least on paper.
Australia plundered the Korean goal in a 5-1 win. It was the first goal that Australia has conceded in the tournament so far. That is a testement to how strong the Australia team is. They are a class above the restat this tournament. Jamie Dwyer pulled out with a hamstring injury in the second half. He put in a huge sprint cross field to eliminate a Korean defender inside the Korean 23m area but had to pull out just before engaging.
